ALICE COOPER Talks About RONNIE JAMES DIO's Passing In New Video Interview

May 21, 2010

Legendary rocker Alice Cooper was interviewed on the Lazer 103.3 radio station at this year's Lazerfest, which took place Sunday, May 16 at Indianola Balloon Grounds in Indianola, Iowa. Watch the chat below.

The "The Gruesome Twosome Tour", featuring Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie, kicked off on April 26 at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada's MTS Centre.

In a recent interview with TorontoSun.com, Alice Cooper was asked if there a friendly rivalry between him and Zombie. "I think we both know who's the student and who's the teacher," he replied. "But I really do respect Rob — I've always said his show is like a tattoo parlour coming to life. And what I like about Rob that I don't find in anybody else's show is a sense of humour. The only other band I can think of with a sense of humour is GWAR. Most of the other bands are trying to be so heavy and so scary. We can be scary too, but there's humor. It's a good match."

When asked if there are any plans for a new album, Alice said, "Ten songs are written already. It's going to be called 'The Night Shift'. The concept is, it's a really dark radio show where I'm the disc jockey, and every song I play will be by a different fictitious band. At some point, you'll realize this disc jockey is a little bit more than that. And I'm sure there will be some kind of a twist ending."
